FAQ

  • Do you take insurance?

We do not bill insurance directly. However, we can give clients receipts, or "superbills," to submit to their insurance for possible reimbursement. We are an out-of-network provider, so clients should check with their insurance for reimbursement options.

Here are a few things to keep in mind if you want to use insurance for reimbursement:

Insurance companies often limit who you can see and how long you can see them.

They usually pay therapists less than half the standard rate.

Insurance requires a mental health diagnosis, which becomes part of your medical record.

Many clients prefer to keep control over their personal information and choose who they see and for how long.

  • Do you offer a sliding scale, and what is that?

Yes, we do offer a sliding scale. A sliding scale means that we adjust our fees based on your financial situation, ensuring that cost is not a barrier to accessing mental health services. We reserve a certain percentage of our practice for discounted rates. If you are in need of a reduced fee, please inquire, and we will work with you to find a solution that fits your circumstances.

  • How do I schedule and appointment?

Scheduling an appointment is simple! Just reach out to us, and we will call or email you with the next steps. If you're a new client, we will ask you to fill out some basic forms before your first session.

  • What is the typical length of a therapy session?

Most therapy sessions last 50-60 minutes, but this can vary depending on the therapist and the nature of the therapy being provided. Your therapist will discuss the session length with you during your first appointment.

  • Do you only offer Art Therapy?

We offer a variety of therapeutic approaches, including but not limited to:

    Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

    Psychodynamic Therapy

    Eco-therapy

    Couples and Family Therapy

    Play Therapy (for children)

    Trauma-Informed Therapy

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)

  • Is Therapy confidential?

Yes, therapy is confidential. We adhere to strict privacy laws to ensure your personal information is kept secure. There are a few exceptions to confidentiality, which will be explained to you at your first session. These exceptions include situations where there is a risk of harm to yourself or others, or when required by law.

  • How often should I attend Therapy?

The frequency of therapy depends on your individual needs. Some clients benefit from weekly sessions, while others may find bi-weekly or monthly sessions more helpful. Your therapist will work with you to determine the frequency that feels right for you and your goals.

  • What if I need to cancel or reschedule my appointment?

If you need to cancel or reschedule, please give us at least 24 hours' notice. We understand that life happens, but without sufficient notice, you may be charged for the missed session. Our cancellation policy helps us manage our schedule and accommodate other clients.

  • What are your office hours?

Our office hours vary depending on each therapist’s availability. Some of our practitioners even offer weekend appointments to accommodate different schedules. Please contact us to find a time that works for you!

  • What happens during a child session and will I receive updates?

Child therapy varies based on age, needs, and the therapeutic model used. Sessions often include play, art, and other activities to help children express their emotions. Therapists create a safe, supportive environment where children can process their thoughts and feelings comfortably. As a parent, you can expect general progress updates while maintaining confidentiality in line with your child’s age. Feel free to discuss any concerns with the therapist to best support your child's success.

  • Do you offer phone or in-person consultations for parents about their child's progress?

Yes! We offer consultations for parents who would like to discuss their child’s progress in therapy. These consultations provide an opportunity for you to ask questions, express concerns, and gain insight into your child’s therapeutic process. Regular hourly rates apply.

The phone consultations are billed separately from the therapy sessions. The pricing for phone consultations is as follows:

    15-minute consultation: $40

    30-minute consultation: $75

Please contact us to schedule a consultation or to get more details. We are here to support both you and your child during this journey!
